Jeffery Deaver is an award-winning journalist and author. He received his BA in journalism from the University of Missouri and has a law degree from Fordham University. Since becoming a full-time writer in 1990, Deaver has written over thirty books. His work has been nominated for an Anthony Award, a Gumshoe Award, and seven Edgar Awards. In 2004 he received the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award from the Crime Writers Association of Great Britain; he has also won the Ellery Queen Reader's Award for Best Short Story three times. His novels have appeared on a number of bestseller lists, including the New York Times, the London Times, and the Los Angeles Times. Many of his novels have also been made into films; in 1999 his book The Bone Collector was made into a major motion picture starring Denzel Washington.
